Lotus confirm partnership with Coca-Cola energy brand

The Burn energy drink will feature on the Lotus car, after a sponsorship deal confirmed for 2013.

The Coca-Cola Company will become partners with the Lotus F1 team in 2013, as the two announced a sponsorship deal that will officially begin next season. It will be the energy drink brand Burn that appears on the car, with the group director of marketing at Coca Cola saying: “Lotus F1 Team, as the number one emerging challenger in the sport, has demonstrated exceptional creativity in their approach to Formula 1 racing and their collaborations with partners - an approach that mirrors the philosophy of Burn.”

Coca-Cola have previously been involved with single-seater racing, but make their F1 return next year. Meanwhile Lotus are looking ahead to the next and final race of this year,

with the team determined to keep Kimi Räikkönen in third place in the championship. He has 16 points over fourth place Lewis Hamilton. Team boss Eric Boullier says: “We have to put ourselves in the same position we were this weekend. The objective is to have one car on the podium at least.”
